This review of intergenerational programs encompassed programs which were analyzed for target population, study design, interventions, outcomes, and effectiveness. Educational and art programs were included, along with multiple other types of activities. The study is relevant for anyone considering designing an intergenerational arts program. It includes recent and rigorously analyzed data on a wide array of program types and characteristics, including the effectiveness of program evaluations. One of the key study conclusions was: “More randomized design studies are required to support researchers and practitioners in the development of future intergenerational programs.”
