What Works for Wellbeing: A Systematic Review of Wellbeing Outcomes for Music and Singing in Adults

From a literature review of 5,397 article, the authors anaysed 61 relatively recent studies with some consistency of approach. Most of the programs studied were regular music listening programs or regular group singing. The authors concude that there is “reliable evidence for positive effects of music and music singing on wellbeing in adults, but there is a need for more research using ocnsistent definitions and methodologies and focusing on groups with a wider variety of backgrounds and circumstances.
