description
This article aims to examine, specifically, the “cultural value” that older adults derive from involvement in theater and drama as participants rather than just observers. They note that many other studies of the impact of arts participation on older adults look at “arts” generally rather than specific arts such as theatre and drama. In addition, most other arts impact studies look at mental and physical health rather than cultural insights and understandings.
It is one of several studies conducted by the authors who are well known for their work on older adults and theater arts.
