Research on Creativity and Aging: the Positive Impact of the Arts on Health and Illness

description

Dr. Cohen, regarded as one of the founders of the emerging creative aging movement, reviews the changes in attitudes and scholarship on aging since the 1970’s that have led to a new understanding of the potential for positive aging. He explains research showing that creative expression can promote health, and, in particular, his landmark study, the Creativity and Aging Study, conducted at the George Washington University Center for Health, Aging and the Humanities.
