description
This webinar was offered to senior center staff in NYC who planned a culminating event for a Creative Aging program at their location.
During the workshop, attendees:
- Viewed examples of quality culminating event formats across various art forms (visual, performing, and literary)
- Learned about working with teaching artists to plan and coordinate the events
- Built excitement for culminating events among senior center staff, Creative Aging program participants, and in the community through internal and external marketing and outreach
- Learned strategies to use the event to increase community connections to the senior center and to amplify the creative voices of the older adult participants
The moderators, Annie Montgomery and Lindsey Francis, interviewed Director of HANAC Harmony JVL Innovative Senior Center, Allison Simmons Brownley, about her connections with local artists and experiences in development to find grants and organizational partners to provide the most engaging and beneficial programming possible.
This free professional development opportunity is part of the New York City Creative Aging Initiative which has been made possible through the generous support of The New York Community Trust.
