Dance Exchange “Dance On” Program

description

Dance On is a program developed by the Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, MD, that brings together its creative aging and intergenerational dance programs. These include an annual Dance On Festival for older adults, educators, and leaders in creative aging, a commissioned pair of intergenerational dancers who create and perform new works, and a Winter Institute which develops tools and practices related to intergenerational dancemaking. Dance On, and its umbrella organization, Dance Exchange, are unusual in the focus on intergenerational dance within the context of creative aging. Dance On also fosters new concepts and practices in dance that can benefit —and bring together—  people of all ages.
