description
This brief article spotlights Antoon Weemers, a retired furniture maker, as an example of the older adults who take part in SRTP Senior, a participatory technology-art program offered by STRP, a digital arts agency based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
STRP Senior offers a range of collaborative, intergenerational arts activities including 3D printing workshops. Many of the city’s older residents were employed in the engineering and electronics fields. They are part of intergenerational teams that work on specific art projects that are subsequently displayed and discussed at STRP’s 10-day biennial festivals.
The program, offered in partnership with Kunstroute65, a specialist arts organization that works with older people, brings older adults together with young digital artists to create new cultural forms and products.
